Daily 5 Posters

I already had several variations of Daily 5 posters BUT... none of them really "matched" my room and I'm a little OCD with my classroom lately so I made these.  I had black and white polka dots last year but am transitioning slowly to chevron and these tied both of my "styles" together.
I'm using these as posters to label areas around the room and will also shrink them to make a daily "check in" system so students can see what they have done.

Math Facts Checklist Book

Every year my students seem to struggle with math fluency because they do not learn their addition facts well.  I decided to make these little books so that students can check off facts as they master them.  I am hoping it will motivate them and help them retain specific facts they are struggling with.  I might use stickers to "check" when they have mastered each fact as "extra" motivation!

I also created a multiplication checklist book for some of my more advanced students at the end of the year (or for anyone who teaches the upper grades).

Recycling Basals!

We are going to be starting Daily 5 this year and I have very few resources for Listen to Reading.  We have a great listening station but my students haven't really used it much because we have so few choices of books on CD.  We also switched basals this year and since we needed to get rid of the old ones, I decided to convert each story from the textbook into a "book".  All of the stories from the old basals are on CD so now I have over 20 "books" (4 sets each) that students can read and listen to.

This took a while but if you have a sharp knife or blade it makes it easier.  I cut the bindings off the old books and then tore out each story.

I then cut each story so that it would fit into a report cover.  I made each story have a separate binding color for organization purposes :-)

If anyone has suggestions for how to organize books for a listening center/area I would love to hear them!  I am having trouble deciding where to put everything!

Behavior Clip Charts!

Our school has adopted a school-wide behavior system using numbers.  I made a few different styles because I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to use.  One has numbers 1-5 and the other has 1-6 + words.
